This Week's Doctor's Appointment

I had a doctor's appointment today, which went well. I had my first internal check and it looks like I'm not dilated at all. My blood pressure was also the lowest it's been in a month or two, so bedrest seems to be helping!

Because of the contractions I've been having lately, the doctor conducted a fetal fibronectin test. The presence of this protein is a good indicator of whether I'll go into labor in the next two weeks. Luckily, the test results came back negative, so it seems very likely that I won't have these babies in the next two weeks. Yay! We want to keep them in there for as long as possible, of course.

I also had a non-stress test, although the twins weren't too cooperative this time. It took 4 or 5 nurses and midwives to finally get both babies on the monitors. Twin A kept kicking the monitor and moving it off, the little troublemaker! Plus, A had the hiccups for the first 30 minutes or so, and those are loud on the monitors! Twin B was more cooperative, but still rolling all over the place. Apparently hiccups are contagious - B got them on the way home. It's funny how different their personalities are already - A haaates monitors and ultrasounds, so A is always kicking at whatever is on my belly. B is more shy and tends to stop moving when lots of voices can be heard. The twins looked good on the monitors and are moving well. Apparently my uterus is pretty irritated according to the test, but I think that's just because it's so stretched out at this point. I had some contractions on the monitor, but nothing regular.

Here's the 32 week belly! I'm now measuring 44 cm, so I'm measuring beyond 40 weeks now. And still growing, apparently.
